Places like Venice in Italy have been suffering flooding problems and have sunk by 9 inches in the last 100 years, the amount of flooding went from less than 10 times a hundred years ago, to more than 60 times within the last decade and a half.
The Maldives, is one of the world’s lowest nations, and since 80% of its 1,200 islands are no more than 1 meter above sea level, the islands are having a problem with sinking. Not only that, but the area also lost 90% of the coral reefs in the area due to coral bleaching.
The Galapagos Islands is suffering a problem from having too many visitors, so there are hotels, restaurants being built, as well as more motor vehicles taking away from the beauty of the natural islands.
