Bentley recently put their Continental GT Speed model into the hands of Australian racer, John Bowe to see what the car is capable of.

John Bowe, a 6 time champion in four different series has been racing for over 40 years and was inducted into the V8 Supercars Hall of Fame in 2009.

Bowe races a Continental GT3 in Australia.

They closed down the Stuart Highway, which essentially cuts the continent of Australia in half, and with the road empty, car checked for safety, Bowe went for it.

The 626 horsepower 6.0 liter twin turbo W12 engine propelled the car forward, allowing it to reach 206 miles per hour in 76 seconds.

Bowe is quoted as saying:

“This isn’t a modified racer; it’s a luxurious grand touring road car fresh off the production line. It took us a little over a minute to go from a standstill to 206 miles per hour. That’s extraordinary.”
