Gatsby-Like Long Island Mansion For Sale for $100 Million

In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, it is said that Jay Gatsby’s mansion is modeled after Kings Point Long Island, well now a gorgeous Gatsby-esque mansion is up for sale for $100 million.

Located on 8 acres in the village of Kings Point, the waterfront compound includes a turreted stone mansion and two guesthouses that offer about 60,000 square feet of living space, including 13 bedrooms and 35 bathrooms.

The European style main house was originally built in 1928, and features a ballroom, hair salon, wine vault and tasting room, indoor racquetball, gym, saunas, steam rooms, spa treatment rooms, and even several indoor pools including a lazy river.

The guesthouses have more indoor pools, a bowling alley, a casino room, and a shooting range.

Also included is a private pier that can accommodate a 200 foot yacht.

There are many lavish gardens and fountains as well as a tennis court with an observation deck.

The property once belonged to billionaire Tamir Sapir, a Russian immigrant who made a fortune in real estate.

The current owners of the property are shielded by a limited liability company and Ms. Polland who handles the listing declined to identify the owners. She did however mention that they purchased the estate as part of a real estate portfolio and never moved in, but did bring in craftsmen to complete the partially finished stonework on the property.
