Jordan Spieth’s Caddie Has Made More Than 159 PGA Tour Golfers This Season So Far

Jordan Spieth is on fire in the PGA Tour world right now, and because he is doing so well, that means his caddie, Michael Greller is doing great too.

So far in 19 events this season, Spieth has 12 top-10 finishes and five wins, including the Masters and the U.S. Open.

This means that Jordan Spieth has made $9.7 million in winnings and is sitting at $8.7 million on the official Tour money list.

Note that he won $1 million for finishing first at the Hero World Challenge, and official PGA Tour event, but the winnings don’t count toward the official money list because of the few mount of players that compete.

He has made more than twice than the second place person on the Tour Money List, Dustin Johnson who has mad $4.3 million this year.

What does this mean for his caddie Michael Greller?

Greller quit his job as a teacher in 2013 to caddie for Jordan Spieth full time, which probably was one of the best decisions of his life.

Caddies are traditionally paid 5% of the prize money for making the cut, 7% for finishing in the top-10, and 10% for winning a tournament according to Golf Digest’s “undercover pro”.

If Spieth is paying out his caddie according to these standards, this means that Greller has been paid $866,534 this season.

This lands him 93rd on the PGA Tour money list this season, ahead of 159 PGA Tour members.
