Patek Philippe Unveils a $2.6 Million Watch

In honor of its 175th anniversary, Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe announced this stunning watch with a price tag of $2.6 million.

The Grandmaster Chime features 18-karat gold and sapphire crystals, and is the most expensive and complicated watch Patek has ever built. The watch has 2 faces one shows the time while the other shows the calendar; the faces can be flipped on its vertical axis to alternate between the two.

The watch contains 6 new patents in watchmaking as well as 20 complications (or functions).

The watch will be made in 7 pieces and Patek is going to hold on to one that will be kept in the company’s private collection in Geneva.

Even if you had the $2.6 million to purchase this watch, you cannot just order one, Patek is taking applications and vetting buyers of this unique timepiece.
