The First Glass Bottom Pool Built Above Ground is Coming to London

Well in the air in London, you could be swimming in a glass bottomed pool.

At the Embassy Gardens at Nine Elms, a new development near the former Battersea power station, they are trying to construct a 25 meter long transparent swimming pool 10 stories in the air, between two apartments.

The pool, which is only separating people swimming in the pool and the outside world by 20cm of glass will allow swimmers to look down 35 meters (maybe you should stay away if you are afraid of heights).

The residents of the two buildings will be able to swim between to the towers, as well as relax on a sky deck which contains a spa, a summer bar and orangery with views of the Houses of Parliament.

The transparent and structure free pool is being designed by Arup Associates, with input from aquarium designers Reynolds.

The Embassy Gardens will include about 2,000 homes including three bedroom suites and penthouses starting at $950,000.
