The World’s Longest Indoor Ski Slope to Be Built in Dubai

When you think Dubai, you think desert, not snow and skiing, but this new construction may have you start thinking about skiing in Dubai.

The newly announced development being dubbed Meydan One will be a mixed use building spanning over 3,671,00 square meters (39,514,000 square feet).

It will contain the world’s tallest residential tower, a cutting edge mall, and the world’s longest indoor ski slope.

The final building will be home to more than 78,300 residents, with part of that number of residents staying in the world record Dubai One tower’s 885 apartments.

Also in the building will be a 5 star hotel, a conference center, a plaza view restaurant and terrace, and the Meydan One Yacht Club.

The civic plaza will be able to hold up to 60,000 people and be home to a floating stage, a waterfall, and what is claimed to be the largest dancing fountain in the world at over 420 meters (1,378 feet) long.

The world’s longest indoor ski slop is supposed to stretch 1.2km (.7 miles), but there will also be other indoor sports activities.

The first phase of development is currently scheduled for completion before 2020.
