There is an Underwater Room at This Resort in Afica

Sleeping with the fishes has a whole new meaning at the Manta Resort in Africa.

The Manta Resort on the Zanzibar Island of Pemba on the eastern coast of Africa is a glamorous resort in its own right.

But the Underwater Room at the resort takes things to a whole new level.

The room designed by Swedish artist Mikael Genberg who also built the first underwater hotel located in a lake in Sweden.

The room sits just over 13 feet beneath the surface, about three feet deeper than the room designed for the Swedish lake.

The three level suite includes a roof deck, a landing deck at sea level with a lounge and bathroom, and the underwater bedroom surrounded by windows that offer a nearly 360 degree view of the coral reef and the amazing species of fish swimming around.

The structure is tethered to the sea floor via anchor wires.

The underwater room sells for only $1,500 as a double.
