Which State in the United States Has the Most Rich People?

The United States is one of the richest countries in the world, but when distributed across the 50 states, which states house the most wealthy people?

Wealth-X recently ran a research report, and California came in first place containing 13,445 ultra high net worth individuals, with New York state coming in second with a population of 9,530 ultra high net worth individuals.

New York City, however, has the largest ultra high net worth population of any city in the United States (and the world), with 8,655 ultra high net worth individuals. San Francisco was second among cities with 5,460 ultra high net worth individuals.

Wealth-X defines ultra high net worth people as those with $30 million and above in assets.

Interestingly, the North and South Dakotas saw a combined 27.6% increase in ultra high net worth, with 14.3% growth of ultra high net worth people in North Dakota and 13.3% growth in South Dakota.
