And The World’s Best Whisky is From….. Japan?

The best whisky in the world is the Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013, made in Japan.

Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible released its list of the best whisky in the world.

For the first time ever there is no Scottish distillery in the top five of the rankings.

Jim Murray sampled over 1,000 whiskeys to put together the bible.

The Whisky Bible describes the top ranked Yamazaki whisky as “rich and fruity” with a nose of “exquisite boldness” and a finish of “light, teasing spice”.

There was only 18,000 bottles made and it sold out on the bible’s online shop.

The bottle retails for $160 in the United States if you can locate it at select retailers.

The second and third place titles were awarded to the Americans, the William Larue Weller 2013 and the Sazerac Rye 18 year old 2013 respectively.
