Zagato Introduces the Maserati Mostro

Italian coach-builder Zagato has always been about style, they’ve worked with some of Europe’s exotic car makers for many years now, from Maserati, Aston Martin to Lamborghini just to name a few.

The newest car introduced by Zagato at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa D’Este is based off a Maserati and it was named after the 1957 450 S which was called “il Mostro” because of the insane power it made at the time.

The body is built on a carbon fiber moncoque chassis and uses a front-mounted dry-sump Maserati v8.

The engine is shifted back between the axles for weight distribution and drives a six-speed semi-automatic transmission powering the rear wheels.

Zagato is planning on only building 5, and apparently all 5 is already sold.

They’re expecting all 5 to be finished and delivered by the end of 2015.
