John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old Rekindles the Grandeur of the Roaring Twenties

Diageo, the parent company of Johnnie Walker among other brands have released the new format 1-liter John Walker & Sons XR 21 Years Old.

The refreshed decanter has an art-deco design, paying tribute to when Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of the brand’s founder was a master blender in the roaring 20s.

The John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old was originally released in 2010 in honor of Walker and his knighthood in 1920.

Sir Alexander Walker was known for his renowned whisky-making craft and entrepreneurial expertise, which, by 1920, had seen Johnnie Walker whiskies travel from the four corners of Scotland to the four corners of the world.

The John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old  is a superior blend of exceptional smoothness and depth that was created to commemorate his Knighthood. It contains whiskies that are aged for a minimum of 21 years and drawn from extremely rare Johnnie Walker reserves – including some from distilleries no longer in existence.

The 1 liter bottle of John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old is available exclusively in travel retail with a recommended price of $178 and the 75 centliter bottle is available at travel and retail domestically for $138.
