Woman Drops Off Old Apple Computer Worth $200,000 At Recycling Plant

We all have old electronics that we just want to get rid of, but maybe this is a lesson for all of us just junking random old electronics.

A mystery woman cleaning out her garage shortly after her husband passed away decided to drop off a box of electronics she found at a San Francisco recycling facility.

When she dropped off the box, the employee asked if she wanted a tax receipt, which she declined, and did not leave any contact information.

The recycling firm was backed up and did not have a chance to go through the boxes until recently.

Well when they did, they found an Apple I computer inside.

The Apple I is one of the only about 200 first generation desktop computers assembled by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ron Wayne back in 1976.

Well the recycling firm ended up selling the computer to a private collection for $200,000, and the company policy is to split proceeds 50/50 with donors, they’re looking to track down the woman.

Morale of the story?

Maybe check twice before junking all your crap, they may be worth something!
